Elm and Fan Arad has designed, for the first time in the country and region, a dedicated mineral sorting and stone sorting machine. The FVM500 is built using advanced cameras and high-speed ejectors. This machine is equipped with the latest technologies in the world, and all sensors and actuators, including cameras and ejectors, are from well-known European brands.
The machine features a user-friendly program for defining acceptable or rejectable colors, allowing for easy storage and adjustment of settings.
The FVM-510 machine can sort stones and mineral materials ranging from 5 to 30 millimeters and increase the grade of the incoming materials from less than 1% to over 5-10% based on the color percentage of the desired material, such as copper (green), zinc (brown), and more. Using NIR cameras, it is possible to focus on a specific element, which helps in separating two materials with similar colors or achieving a higher grade percentage.
Elm and Fan Arad Engineering Company is the first and only manufacturer of mineral sorting machines, designing and building their machines according to the needs of industry professionals in the country, using 100% Iranian software.
The machine is equipped with a 4G modem, enabling internet connectivity for remote maintenance services, troubleshooting, and machine software updates. Since the machine design and construction are done by the company, there is also the possibility of upgrading the machine, including the camera and material identification system.
Currently, the company manufactures the FVM512 with a 120cm drop width and the FVM506 with a 60cm drop width. Larger machines will be released in the near future. Each machine can be configured as a dual-side (DS) with two camera sets on both sides or single-side (SS) with one camera set on one side. Dual-side machines are used for mineral materials where separating the visible ore from both sides is necessary, such as copper ore. Single-side machines are suitable for materials where it is enough to identify the ore from one side, such as fluorite, celestine, and silica, or when the separation process involves more than 30-40% of the incoming material. Even if separation from both sides is required, a single-side machine may be more cost-effective, such as when separating zinc and barite stones.
Generally, sorting operations in stone sorting depend on repetition. After sorting the ore in the first stage, if we want to increase the grade, a second or even third sorting may be necessary for the desired ore. In this case, the output material from the first sorting must be re-fed into the second sorting machine. Due to the reduced input load for the second sorting process, a machine with a smaller capacity should be used. For example, primary sorting could be done with the FVM512 machine, and secondary sorting with the FVM506 machine. However, both sorting stages can be done with a single machine, but in mining, material storage and transportation can be challenging, and it is preferable to use two machines in succession.
The second sorting operation can also be used for sorting waste stones to improve the efficiency of the separation process, reducing the percentage of ore remaining in the waste output.
